On the pier. Lobster boats all around. Great views of Goat Island Light House. Staff friendly. Helped us rookies navigate a whole lobster and steamer clams for our meal. Lobster roll on sweet bread was amazing. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Stopped in for a lunch and ordered way too much food. The lobster roll is amazing and not overdressed so you get to enjoy the flavor. Staff were so friendly and warm. Also right on the water with amazing views!

2023.04.30th: Cape Pier Chowder House has been open for 27 years. The meals, seafood chowder, and fried clams were fresh and local. The full-belly flaky clams were not greasy but light and tasty. The seafood chowder was packed with clams and seafood fun; delicious. The dining area was quaint, and the prices were market competitive. The dining area overlooks the water. The local Allagash draft beer was delicious. Mr. Allen Daggett and his wife are wonderful owners. The clam shack is open for the summer and closes on Nov 1st. My husband and I are from Houston, TX, and this is our favorite ME place for fried clams!

Great Maine vacation experience and food. Got the classic clam chowder and steamers and have to say, was awesome. Tired the fish and chips from my table mate; was equally awesome. The staff have great senses of humor (must have to with the diverse crowd that eats here) and are faster than a seagull on chips. Highly recommended! Thanks! Would have had lobster, but had 2 last night

I’m certain that the only reason why this place is doesn’t have more reviews is because people are keeping it to themselves, and I get it. This place is the definition of “gem”. On the pier with views onto the water, it is the most tranquil setting. We didn’t go for a lobster roll but we got fried clams and fish and chips…so good!!!!! Not greasy or rubbery at all. Great service too. Highlight meal! Parking is tricky, there are two other restaurants so try find parking on the road leading to it. Chowder House is the last restaurant on the right.
